The Cancer Clinic is dedicated to providing the most effective cancer care in the friendliest surroundings. We treat an average of 60-70 new patients each month in addition to their current patients. This is nearly 15,000 patient encounters every year.
History
Dr. Tripathy started the practice of Medical Oncology in April 1982 in the then Bryan Professional Building in Bryan and stayed there until September 1996. At that time St. Joseph Regional Cancer Center was built and Cancer Clinic moved to its current location: 2215 East Villa Maria, Suite 110 in Bryan. Dr. Jenkins joined the Cancer Clinic in July 1997. Dr. Fleener joined Drs. Tripathy and Jenkins in practice in 2006.
Local Treatments
The Cancer Clinic specializes in all types of ADULT cancers and can provide comprehensive care to 99% of adult cancer patients in this area. We do not treat pediatric patients. Breast, colon, lung, lymphnode, and prostate cancer account for 60% of those treated here.
Treatment & Care Philosophy
We profess absolute honesty in dealing with our patients and expect the same in return. We believe an informed patient is the best patient and will always welcome questions from you, answering them with honesty and openness.
We usually offer conventional treatment in cases where treatment of proven benefit is available. In the absence of such treatment, patients are given the option of participating in clinical trials.
Cancer treatments are still in the process of evolution. Often there is more than one option, and there may not be a "best option." In such cases, the treatment options will be fully explained to you and your informed consent will be obtained before starting any treatment.
Second Opinion
Because cancer is a serious and life-threatening illness, there is often an urge to get a second opinion. This is something we always encourage and by which we will never be offended. If we believe that your particular condition will benefit from another opinion or referral to another cancer center, we will make the appropriate recommendation without you having to ask for it.
